East End Studio Film Studio is a 6,000 SQFT warehouse and is used for Music Videos, Commercials, Feature Films, Commercial Photography and more.

The Film Studio in London has the following features:

  • 3 Usable working areas in 1 space with different characteristics

  • Large Industrial Location – previously used as a military factory
  • Good Location – Located near key suppliers, Located near Olympic Site ideal for unit base usage

Working Areas

East End Studios is a large 6,000 SQFT the space has three key working areas: Long, High, Theatre Style.

To demonstrate how the space can be used for each layout we have provided a Behind the scenes picture and a Reference video.

Working Area 1 – Theatre Layout

  • Theatre Truss – provides light placement at every possible angle
  • Quick Set-up of lights
  • Good working height, for normal shoots
  • Heavy Duty Steel truss, can take heavy lighting / scenery
  • 10 Meters by 8.5 Meters of overhead grid

This area is used when

  • Quick overhead lighting set-up required
  • Secondary shoot space is required i.e. green screen set-up
  • Location shooting against actual studio walls
  • Set Builds – requiring support

    • Note: For shoots requiring the complete floor; the Theatre Truss can be either removed or supported from the roof

    Working Area 2 – Long Layout

    • Long Space
    • Good working height, for normal shoots
    • Roofing beams can support lighting / scenery as required

    This area is used when

    • Long space is required
    • Secondary shoot space is required i.e. green screen set-up
    • Location shooting against actual studio walls

      • Working Area 2 - Side Layout (longest layout)

      Working Area 3 – Highest Layout

      Working Area 3 has the following features:

      • Overhead lighting grid – provides very high overhead rigging for profiles, spots, floods
      • Motorized Truss (can be removed) – provides easy overhead rigging for heavy moving lights
      • Viewing Gallery / Platform behind – provides camera vantage points, lights can be rigged on stands here
      • Completely flat wall – can be repainted

      This area is used when

      • Completely flat background is required
      • Shoots requiring a very large green / blue / black wall
      • High / Wide access shots, typically shoots involving large Jib
      • Front lighting for stage area on very large shoots

      Other Areas of interest

      Scenery Dock and Props storage

      The upstairs area in the studio is our Scenery dock, we store various props / items that are commonly used on shoots.

      Features

      • Nearby power supply
      • Hatch doors for easy access to prop
      • 25 way stage box, connecting to behind theatre truss; XLR patch for sound / lighting control
      • Can be locked separately to main studio

      This area also has other uses:

      • Storage of valuables
      • High Vantage point for photography
      • Space can be made for track and dolly at height
      • Wardrobe Area / Changing Area
      • Front of House – lighting desk control

      Green Room

      The Green Room is separate to the studio and features:

      • Clothes Rail
      • Iron with Ironing Board (on request)
      • Free Fast Wifi Broadband
      • 3x Make-up stations, Make-up light, Mirrors

      Industrial Factory Complex

      Long Industrial Corridor
      The complex the studio is in has various industrial corridors that are used as locations for music videos / films.
      Given prior notice we can accommodate most requests for example:

      • Temporarily Disable fire-alarms
      • Use smoke machine / pyrotechnics
      • Bring in Car / Motorbike into corridor
      • Painting / Re-painting
